About The TeamThe Engineering Productivity team, part of the Infrastructure & Productivity division, builds and maintains internal platforms, tooling, and CI/CD infrastructure that power Airwallex’s global engineering organization. You will work closely with engineers, SREs, and DevOps architects to enhance developer experience and engineering excellence.

The RoleAs a Senior Software Engineer on the Productivity team, you will design, build, and optimize developer tooling and infrastructure to increase velocity, quality, and reliability across Airwallex’s platform. You will tackle challenges at the intersection of AI‑driven automation, CI/CD pipeline engineering, and cloud infrastructure. This role is based in Seattle.

Responsibilities

• Enhance developer productivity with AI: use AI and machine learning to streamline workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and improve code quality.
• Optimize CI/CD pipelines: design, implement, and continuously improve pipelines to reduce build times and increase deployment frequency.
• Build and maintain internal developer platforms and tooling: create scalable infrastructure services, including messaging platforms, observability systems, and workflow automation tools.
• Drive infrastructure reliability and operational excellence: implement monitoring, alerting, and incident management; participate in on‑call rotations and lead post‑mortems for P1/P2 incidents.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with domain engineering teams: gather requirements, deliver tooling solutions, and use data‑driven metrics to guide improvements.
• Uphold engineering quality standards: write clean, well‑tested code; conduct code reviews; contribute to technical standards and best practices; champion quality gate enforcement and change management standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Familiarity with large‑scale, high‑concurrency, high‑load distributed systems.
• Mastery of server technologies that optimize service response and query performance.
• Strong proficiency in backend languages such as Python, Java, Go, Kotlin, Rust, or Node.js and related frameworks.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling, or platform infrastructure at scale.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Aliyun) and infrastructure tools (Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker).
• Strong system‑design skills and ability to own technology strategy, make architectural decisions, and review RFCs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI/ML tools or LLM integration to enhance workflows or automate code review.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, ELK) and incident response practices.
• Ability to move fast in dynamic, collaborative, ambiguous environments, and to propose new solutions across diverse stakeholders.
• Experience in a platform engineering or developer experience role at a technology or fintech company, with a data‑driven approach to measuring developer productivity.
