Job summary

Plaid is seeking a Senior Product Security Engineer who will design and build production‑grade security services and libraries to make the secure path the default for Plaid developers. You will own VM orchestration and automate vulnerability workflows at scale.

You will collaborate with product and engineering teams, educate others on security, participate in incident response, and help ship secure features across Plaid's developer tools used by thousands of engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and scaling production services.
• Architect and build secure, scalable software systems.
• Experience with vulnerability management and key/secret handling.
• Design distributed microservices with performance and reliability.
• Familiar with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform and security integrations.

Responsibilities

• Build secure engineering foundations for Plaid's future.
• Develop secure software to improve Plaid's security posture and provide easy secure integration for developers.
• Design, develop, and maintain security‑critical services and components.
• Develop internal tooling to automate vulnerability detection, dependency management, and remediation in CI/CD.
• Replace manual gates with engineered, faster, secure shipping.
• Communicate progress to managers and teammates.
• Design and implement technical solutions aligned with business needs.
• Proactively identify and address security vulnerabilities.
• Participate in incident response and security awareness initiatives.
