Overview

At Redflag, we develop software that analyzes all content types used to communicate online (text, image, video, and audio) and can find any particular piece of content across the internet. Our products are used by enterprises and individuals across media, entertainment, sports, publishing, music, retail, finance, and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to existing and create new products
  • Work on Backend with other engineers
  • Develop and propose software architecture for new products based on Product Team requirements
  • Refactor large code base from time to time
  • Performance optimizations and cost-reducing practices
Education and experience requirements
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science
  • Minimum 8+ years of full-time hands-on experience
  • Strong experience in development and optimization of databases (PostgreSQL, AWS Redshift) and complex software architectures
  • Strong experience developing Ruby on Rails applications and RESTful APIs
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • A proven track record of launching and maintaining large-scale web applications
  • A good foundational knowledge of OOP languages, operating systems, data structures, algorithms, and complexity trade-offs
  • Strong knowledge working with payment processors (Stripe, Braintree, etc), subscriptions, user management, Redis, Sidekiq, Cron jobs, etc.
  • Solid knowledge of SOLID, TDD principles
  • A background in refactoring large-scale systems
  • Knowledge of Elastic Beanstalk and other AWS services
  • Strong communications skills both written and verbal

Base pay and benefits

Base salary range: $140-180k. Our base pay philosophy is to provide salary range transparency in our hiring process. We post our base salary range on job openings and discuss candidates’ salary expectations during initial interviews. The role is eligible for a new hire equity grant in the form of stock options and a bonus plan. This position is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package and additional compensation elements as part of total rewards.
