Job summary

Galileo is looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Burlingame, CA. In this role, you'll help design, build, and scale the core services that power our API and products. This includes collaboration with cross-functional teams and developing reliable software for generative AI applications. Ideal candidates will have 4+ years of experience in building scalable platforms, real-time systems, and backends in Python. The position offers unlimited PTO, parental leave, and other benefits.

Senior Software Engineer, Platform – Burlingame, CA
This is an onsite role based in Burlingame, CA with the team working together in person 2 days per week.

Role Description

As an early software engineer at Galileo, you will play a foundational role in designing, building, and scaling the core services powering our API and product. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners to develop scalable, reliable software for Gen AI applications.

Minimum Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience building scalable platforms and/or real‑time machine learning systems
• Strong experience building large‑scale and complex distributed systems
• Experience building backends for real‑time services in Python
• Experience working with systems like Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience building applications on cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, Azure
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross‑functional partners
• A startup mindset, biasing towards thoughtful action with minimal direction

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building with ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras
• Engaged in all steps of the product development process, working cross‑functionally with a product manager, designer, user researcher, and data scientist
