Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced software engineer to scale our platform for hyper growth and large customers. You will collaborate with Product, Design, and GTM to translate goals into a clear engineering plan and establish robust CI/CD, testing, reliability, and observability practices.

You will prototype rapidly with external APIs and infra vendors while mentoring engineers across teams, driving excellence in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software-engineering experience.
• Deep, hands‑on expertise scaling and operating PostgreSQL—partitioned/sharded schemas, tuning, backups, observability, and multi‑TB clusters with replication and failover.
• Proven track record shipping high‑impact, production‑grade systems at scale. Prototype quickly, iterate on feedback, and sweat edge cases.
• Collaborative, low‑ego attitude with mentoring experience and a history of leveling up teammates.
• Desire to work in a fast‑paced environment, continuously grow, and master your craft.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that Unify can scale to support our hyper growth and provide a stable platform for large scale customers such as Cursor, Perplexity and Decagon
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and GTM stakeholders to translate ambiguous business goals into a clear, phased engineering plan.
• Establish coding standards, CI/CD pipelines, testing strategy, reliability targets, and observability practices that future teams will inherit.
• Rapidly prototype with third‑party APIs, databases, model‑serving platforms, and infra vendors to accelerate customer value.
• Provide technical leadership for (and — if you’re up for it — manage) engineers across domains—pairing, reviewing, and unblocking as you go.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software-engineering experience
• Deep, hands‑on expertise scaling and operating PostgreSQL—designing partitioned/sharded schemas, tuning indexes and queries, automating backups and observability, and running resilient multi‑TB clusters with replication and failover.
