Job summary

NetBox Labs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Observability Team, focusing on network discovery, monitoring, and fleet management. You will work with Go, protobuf APIs (gRPC/Connect), PostgreSQL, Redis, and Redis-based messaging in multi-tenant environments.

This role emphasizes OpenTelemetry and strong networking knowledge. Collaborate with Product, NetBox, and Platform teams to deliver integrated observability tooling for NetBox OSS and Cloud offerings.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Expertise in Go and protobuf APIs (gRPC/Connect) for multi-tenant services.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis and RabbitMQ in production.
• Strong knowledge of OpenTelemetry and observability.
• Solid networking knowledge: devices, configurations, protocols.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Observability tooling and integrations for NetBox platforms.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, NetBox team, and Platform to deliver observability features.
• Ensure correctness, security, and tests across services; write clear technical specs with diagrams.
• Contribute to both OSS and NetBox Enterprise/Cloud observability initiatives.

Observability is a key component of network automation, and critical to our company mission to make it easier to build and manage complex networks.This team is responsible for Network Discovery & Reconciliation, Network Observability & Monitoring, and Agents & Fleet Management.
