Job summary

Cisco Isovalent, now part of Cisco, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the software agent team. You will design and deploy high-performance agents across Linux, Unix, and Windows, supporting multiple architectures including aarch64, x86_64, s390x, and ppc64_le.

You will work with engineers, data scientists, UX/UI specialists, and support teams in an agile environment to analyze workloads, enforce network policies from a central controller, and protect container-based deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of software development experience or a Master's degree with 4+ years of experience.
• Strong experience in systems programming using C or C++, including multi-threaded/multi-process apps.
• Solid understanding of OS fundamentals: threads, processes, file systems, networking and IPC.
• Proven debugging and troubleshooting of complex software systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and improve high-performance software agents.
• Develop software across Linux, Unix, Windows and multiple architectures.
• Enforce network policies from a central controller and monitor container deployments.
• Analyze complex interactions between apps, processes and kernels.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in the full product lifecycle.
