Job summary

Xometry is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Buyer Experience organization. You will lead initiatives to build new features and maintain systems that drive the experience of buying custom manufacturing via the Xometry website.

You will collaborate with a product manager and engineers, provide hands-on technical leadership, conduct code reviews, and ensure delivery aligns with business timelines while maintaining high quality, performance, and scalability across the platform.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software development experience in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.
• Experience with an e-commerce/marketplace product is highly desired.
• Strong execution and communication skills with a focus on delivering high-quality software.
• Proficiency in frontend technologies: React, Typescript, HTML/DOM/CSS.
• Exposure to cloud hosting (AWS) and database technologies (SQL, MongoDB).
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and code reviews.

Responsibilities

Xometry is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Xometry buyer experience organization. You will be responsible for leading initiatives to build new features and maintain existing systems that drive the experience of buying custom manufacturing via the Xometry website. You will work closely with a product manager and peer and senior engineers to continue growing Xometry capabilities and the buyer experience of online custom manufacturing.

How You’ll Contribute:

• Hands-On Technical Leadership: Adopt a 'lead by example' approach by actively coding and troubleshooting
• Leadership & Teaching: You will serve as a guide and supervisor to engineers on your team, teaching and mentoring them to grow their skills.
• Code Review: You will do code review and mentor others within the organization to perform good code reviews. You will also be responsible for setting good coding patterns and designs.
• Operational Excellence: Guarantee the delivery of superior software that not only meets but exceeds customer expectations, while aligning with the strategic business timelines

What You'll Bring to Xometry:

• At least 6+ years of experience in software development, in a fast-paced, product-driven environment
• Experience with an e-commerce/marketplace product is highly desired
• Strong technical expertise with an eye on making code changes keeping future strategy and roadmap in mind. You will be expected to do full-stack team that works in the following technologies:
• Frontend web technologies including React, Typescript and HTML/DOM/CSS
• Cloud hosting services, preferably AWS
• SQL and MongoDB
• Containerization technologies (Docker and Kubernetes)
• Need strong execution, and communication skills
• Understands and prioritizes unit and integration testing
