Job summary

Pearson's ExamDeveloper team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own the design, implementation, and reliability of large-scale web components and services that power exam creation and management.

You will mentor engineers, lead architecture discussions, and collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps to deliver secure, scalable solutions in a cloud-native environment using Angular, Kubernetes, and SQL Server.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of professional software development experience.
Experience leading design and delivery of complex, distributed systems.
Experience providing technical leadership within Agile engineering teams.
Experience designing and operating cloud-native environments.

Responsibilities

Lead design and implementation for complex software components, services, and platforms.
Drive technical decision-making for major features and engineering initiatives.
Influence software architecture and engineering standards within your domain.
Lead design sessions and participate in architectural discussions with Product Architects.
Mentor engineers through design reviews and code reviews; participate in interviews.
Communicate technical direction, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders.
Deliver enterprise-scale, secure, maintainable, and scalable software solutions.
