Job summary

Publix Super Markets is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Labor Management team in Lakeland. You will lead the technical strategy, drive delivery of a scalable labor management application, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with business goals.

You will design and deliver scalable solutions using React, .NET, SQL, and Kafka, while mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and guiding Agile processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related analytical field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of enterprise .NET Framework experience including design, development, and delivery.
• 2+ years building modern frontend React.js with backend APIs.
• 2+ years leading agile Scrum teams.
• Experience designing event-driven applications using Apache Kafka.

Your Impact

• Design and deliver scalable applications, APIs, databases, and event-driven solutions using React, .NET, SQL, and Kafka.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build, support, and enhance enterprise applications.
• Lead technical delivery for multiple initiatives while ensuring adherence to development standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other analytical discipline or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience leveraging .NET Framework (8, 9, or 10), in application design, development, and delivery in an enterprise environment
• 2+ years of experience with SQL, including experience with database design, query optimization, and the use of ORM frameworks (such as Dapper or Entity Framework) to develop efficient and scalable applications
• 2+ years of experience developing modern frontend React.js frameworks integrated with backend APIs
• 2+ years of experience in driving a team’s work in an agile scrum environment
• Experience designing and supporting event-driven applications using Apache Kafka, including message production, consumption, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in reviewing and approving design of complex technical solutions working with architects and other company resources

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kubernetes (K3), Docker, or other containerization technologies such as OpenShift
• Experience planning, organizing, and managing projects and projects teams
• Experience or desire to work in event-based/micro-service style architecture
• Experience with .NET 10
• Experience with Kafka Connect and Kafka Smart Router

Year End Bonus

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
