Software Engineer Backend Development Agile Distributed Systems Full Lifecycle Development

As a Software Engineer, you'll be an end‑to‑end owner, participating in designing, building, and delivering data‑focused products. Work on backend infrastructure with a focus on quality at scale, building client‑facing applications, internal solutions, and model pipelines. Solve algorithmic, optimization, and scale challenges in a highly collaborative, distributed system environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deliver, and own full lifecycle software development.
• Drive complex changes and deliver quality changes with automated tests, metrics, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with team members and guide product feature changes.
• Implement and maintain product features.
• Build components and processes used by others.
• Build execution plans incorporating user data and market insight.
• Validate changes for high‑quality releases.
• Work in a distributed system environment and understand business objectives.
• Participate in projects with technical ambiguity and contribute to success criteria.
• Lead through example, mentorship, and teaching.

Requirements

• Comfortable working on an agile, distributed team across time zones.
• Effective communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Solid understanding of computer science and engineering fundamentals.
• Experience working with distributed systems.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages: C#, Java, C, C++, Python, SQL, or Scala.
• Knowledge of software development code editors and version control systems (Git, Perforce).
• 7+ years of software development engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice‑to‑have skills

• Experience with database engines (Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres, Aerospike, Vertica, Redis).
• Experience building micro‑services, operating systems and cloud, Kubernetes, Kafka.
