Job summary

Olsson is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead citizen development and innovation initiatives within Applied Technology. You will guide the full solution lifecycle from discovery and design through deployment and support, ensuring alignment with governance, security, and long-term sustainability.

The role requires 6+ years delivering technology solutions, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on software development in languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/Engineering or related field; associates degree with equivalent experience acceptable.
• Minimum 6+ years delivering technology, automation, software, digital transformation, or business process improvements.
• Experience leading cross-functional technology initiatives and collaborating with business and technical stakeholders.
• Developing or supporting solutions using Java, Python, C#, VB.NET, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, VBA, or similar.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience with AEC software ecosystems (Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Revit, ACC, Bentley, ArcGIS, QGIS) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end SDLC from intake to deployment as the primary technical delivery lead.
• Partner with DSLs and stakeholders to identify opportunities, define requirements, and evaluate options.
• Evaluate approaches including automation, AI-enabled solutions, low-code, or third-party technologies.
• Manage all phases of the solution lifecycle from discovery to continuous improvement.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across IT, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, and Infrastructure.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and integrated with existing workflows.
• Develop and maintain documentation and ownership models for long-term sustainability.
