Job summary

Compass seeks an experienced software engineer in Boston to design and build high-visibility dashboards, notifications, and frontend surfaces for real estate agents. You will lead delivery of complex projects across the stack and integrate AI models, data pipelines, and telemetry systems to automate workflows.

This role requires deep frontend expertise (React, UI/UX, performance), strong Python experience for data pipelines, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least five years of professional software development delivering complex projects autonomously; exceptional 3+ years accepted.
• Deep expertise in modern frontend frameworks such as React, UI/UX execution, and browser performance; understanding of backend APIs.
• Professional Python experience valued for data pipelines and AI/LLM workflows.
• Kafka experience is a plus.
• Experience building high-throughput user workflow tools, transactional systems, dynamic interfaces, or SaaS products.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and technical empathy for end users.
