Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior software architect for multi-vehicle autonomy in Burlington, MA. You will design, develop, and test advanced autonomy software, focusing on AI/ML for robotic systems and autonomous flight coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in STEM fields.
• 5+ years of experience in software development/R&D of AI for Robotics, ML, planning/optimization, or autonomous uncrewed systems software.
• Experience developing modular, production-quality autonomy software.
• Experience with C/C++ and Python.
• Familiarity with memory-safe languages desired.
• Experience with modern tool chains and Agile, Git/Gitlab/Github, Confluence/Jira, CI/CD, Conan, SonarQube, and automated tests.
• Familiarity with DoD robotics standards and datalink architectures.
• Familiarity with AI robotic navigation and algorithms including path planning, schedule optimization, and distributed coordination.
• Familiarity with Linux-based development.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a United States DoD Security Clearance.

• Provide technical expertise to design, implement, and test autonomy software systems for embedded uncrewed multi-vehicle autonomy
• Support presentation of technical results to internal and external customers
• Support integration of existing work into a unified software architecture
• Develop software for advanced AI/ML programs relating to autonomous flight systems and crewed-uncrewed collaboration
• Occasionally travel to remote test events

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Math, Statistics, Engineering, Physical Science, Computer Science, Operations Research, or Data Science
• 5+ years of experience in software development/R&D of AI for Robotics, Machine Learning, Robot Planning/Optimization Techniques, and/or Autonomous Uncrewed Systems Software
• Experience developing modular, maintainable, production-quality autonomy software
• Experience developing using C/C++ and Python
• Familiarity with relevant memory-safe languages is optional but desired
• Experience with and/or understanding of modern software development tool chains and processes, including Agile, git/Gitlab/Github, Confluence/Jira, CI/CD, Conan, SonarQube, and automated test methodologies
• Familiarity with DoD or other common robotics and datalink architecture standards is desired
• Familiarity with AI robotic navigation and decision algorithms is desired, including path planning, schedule optimization, and distributed coordination algorithms
• Familiarity with Linux-based development environments is highly desired
• Effective oral communication and technical writing skills
• Strong collaboration skills in multi-disciplinary autonomy, vehicle systems, and systems engineering teams
• Ability to work effectively as part of an integration-focused development team
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a United States DOD Security Clearance
