Salesforce's Slack Identity Security team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build identity and access controls protecting Slack's infrastructure and AI agents. This role writes code, designs services, and ships features that govern how humans and AI agents authenticate and access systems on AWS and Kubernetes.

You'll work with Identity, Security, and Infrastructure teams to deliver secure, reliable back-end services, and you'll grow in identity-domain expertise while maintaining

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including building and operating production backend systems.
• Proficiency in a high-level programming language such as Python or Go.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, including deploying and operating services in a cloud environment.
• Working knowledge of distributed systems concepts (APIs, service architecture, data stores).
• Solid understanding of security fundamentals and secure software development practices.
• Strong verbal communication skills — able to explain technical tradeoffs clearly to teammates.
• Strong written communication skills: you can write durable and clear documentation for a variety of readers, including engineering teammates, technical reviewers, and users
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Grow with the team: Take on increasing ownership of projects and systems as you build identity domain expertise.

The Opportunity

Slack's Identity Security team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build the identity and access controls that protect Slack's infrastructure and the agents operating within it. This is a software engineering role: you'll write code, design services, and ship features that secure how humans and AI agents authenticate and access systems at Slack. Cloud platform experience is essential; prior identity domain experience is a plus but not required — we'll ramp you up on the identity-specific context.

At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions. The typical base salary range for this position is $172,500 - $260,100 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $207,800 - $285,800 annually. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
