Job summary

Emergent Staffing is seeking a Software Engineer for a 6+ month contract-to-hire hybrid role in the West suburbs of Minneapolis–Saint Paul, Minnesota. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and services, collaborating across engineering, product, and operations to translate requirements into robust solutions.

The ideal candidate brings strong C#/.NET experience, ASP.NET Core, API integrations, and a focus on code quality, performance, and reliability in production

Qualifications

• Professional software development experience using C# and .NET.
• Experience with ASP.NET Core and modern .NET technologies.
• Experience designing scalable software solutions in production.
• Familiarity with source control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices.
• Experience integrating applications with APIs and third-party systems.
• Strong understanding of software design principles and code quality.
• Experience with performance optimization and troubleshooting.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications, services, and internal platforms.
• Build scalable solutions that support business operations, automation, and product development initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code focused on performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planning activities.
• Integrate applications with external systems, APIs, and services.
• Contribute to development best practices, CI/CD improvements, and process enhancements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues in development and production environments.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and software development best practices.
