Job summary

Verana Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain scalable APIs, UIs and backend services powering key healthcare applications. The role is hybrid, requiring 3 days per week in New York or San Francisco offices.

You will work with Java, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS and modern front-end practices, build secure, high-performance systems, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines while mentoring teammates.

Qualifications

• 5+ years real-world backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience building secure, scalable APIs and services.
• Strong understanding of RESTful design, microservices and system design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality, user-centric interfaces and components.
• Architect, build and maintain high-performance, scalable services.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to translate user needs into interfaces.
• Participate in CI/CD pipeline design and infrastructure using Docker, Kubernetes and AWS.
• Write clean, testable code using JUnit and other testing frameworks.
• Ensure application security following OWASP and OAuth 2.0 standards.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to their growth.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies to plan, deliver features and review code.
• Keep up with emerging technologies to drive innovation.
