Job summary

BD in San Diego is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Pyxis ES Development team. You will design and implement software in enterprise environments, focusing on scalable microservices, Go/Java and modern web tech, with cross-functional collaboration.

The role emphasizes Agile practices, cloud and on‑prem deployments, containerization, security, observability, and strong communication to support BD’s healthtech products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM related field.
• 5 years of growing responsibility in R&D roles, with emphasis in coding (Python, Java, Go, C, C++, C# etc.).
• Experience with multiple database implementations (e.g. MySQL, SQL Server).
• Willingness to travel up to 10% (domestic and international).

Responsibilities

• Perform software design and implementation following guidelines for performance, reliability and maintainability.
• Conduct software evaluation and testing of own and others’ software.
• Provide technical documentation for design, implementation and testing.
• Attend design reviews and adhere to development procedures.
• Document and repair software errors.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete Product Engineering projects.
