Job summary

Google Health in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer. You will design and implement scalable architectures, enabling low-latency access to health and biometric data, and build tools for secure data retrieval and analysis.

Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and frontend engineers; mentor junior engineers; participate in design reviews to uphold engineering standards. In-person interviews are typical in the hiring process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with one or more general purpose programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python, or Go).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement agentic architecture, tools, and features that enable scalable, low-latency data access and analysis to ground Coach responses in users’ longitudinal health, biometric, and fitness data.
• Write production-grade code and evals to enable secure data retrieval layers and investigative tools.
• Identify product gaps and suggest feature enhancements that drive user value, while proposing architectural code improvements for long-term scalability and maintainability.
• Work with Product Managers, UX Designers, and frontend engineers to refine the user experience and resolve cross-functional technical issues.
• Mentor junior engineers, and conduct design and code reviews to maintain engineering standards within the team.
