Job summary

Fleetio is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Growth Engineering team. You will craft user-centric onboarding experiences, run experiments, and partner with Product, Designers, and Data Ops to drive trial engagement.

You will ship features across the app, focus on reducing churn, and help define the direction of the Growth team in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience with Ruby on Rails.
• 2+ years experience with ReactJS and Typescript.
• Experience on a Growth engineering team.
• Experience building full-stack web-based systems.
• Strong understanding of OOP and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks.
• Excellent written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Description

Fleetio is looking for a self-driven and product-minded Senior Software Engineer to join our Growth Engineering team. This role would be ideal for someone who has a good eye for UX, an interest in digging into data, and enjoys working with a cross-functional team. In this role, you’ll research opportunities and run experiments in an effort to ensure Fleetio users are primed for long-term success through personalized onboarding experiences.

This is a remote opportunity and is open to candidates in the United States, Canada, or Mexico.

Who You Are

You have extensive experience planning, designing, and building features that increase trial user engagement with cross-functional partners such as Product Managers, Designers, and Quality Engineers. Your ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with others is key to your success. This role is part of the Product Engineering department and you will report to the Engineering Manager, Web.

Your Impact

• You’ll work closely with Product Managers, Designers, our Data Ops team, and other engineers to research, plan, design, and build features that drive user adoption of Fleetio’s product.
• You will quickly create user experiences throughout the app and experiment to increase engagement from trial users.
• You will build systems to provide customized onboarding for users during their trial period and spend time improving feature areas around various app modules to increase usage and reduce churn.
• The Growth engineering team is in its early stages, and you will have a strong voice in setting direction for both the team and the product experience.

Your Experience

• 5+ years experience with Ruby on Rails
• 2+ years experience with ReactJS, Typescript
• Previous experience working on a Growth engineering team
• Varied experience building full-stack web-based systems and features
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and relational databases, such as PostgreSQL
• Prior experience with unit testing frameworks
• Excellent communication skills (particularly written)

• Familiarity with using and configuring user monitoring and analytics tooling
• Project experience with TailwindCSS
• You know a thing or two about the Fleet management industry
