Job summary

OLH Technical Services is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Newport, RI team. The role focuses on developing, designing, and maintaining scalable web applications in collaboration with a cross-functional team and government schedules.

You will work with React, Git, Agile methodologies, containers, and cloud environments, with opportunities to contribute to CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and application documentation. Candidate experience in PHP is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience developing software with React.
• 5+ years experience using Git and branching strategies.
• 5+ years experience with Agile methodologies.
• 3+ years experience utilizing Containers.
• 3+ years experience developing software in a cloud environment.
• 5+ years experience developing software with PHP (desired).
• 7+ years experience developing software with React (desired).

Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and maintain web applications in collaboration with team members to develop scalable and high-performing web-based software solutions.
• Collaborate with clients, business analysts, and other stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for web applications.
• Prioritize code quality, readability, maintainability, efficiency, and scalability according to coding standards.
• Utilize Agile methodologies, automated test coverage, and CI/CD to ensure reliable development processes.
• Participate in monthly peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications and perform regular updates.
• Integrate and maintain MSSQL and MySQL databases within the application architecture.
• Prepare documentation for software solutions for government review and approval.
