Job summary

Google Health in Mountain View is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build next-generation health data platforms at scale. You will work across teams to design, implement, and deploy high-performance software for health insights, with opportunities to mentor others and influence architecture.

Candidates should have 5+ years in general purpose languages and a Bachelor’s degree; advanced degrees are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with one or more general purpose programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python, or Go).
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable architecture and tools for health data processing.
  • Develop secure data retrieval layers and evaluation tooling.
  • Identify product gaps and propose architectural improvements for long-term scalability and maintainability.
  • Work with Product Managers, UX Designers, and frontend engineers to refine the user experience.
  • Mentor junior engineers and conduct design and code reviews to maintain engineering standards.

US: $174000 - $252000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

  • Design and implement agentic architecture, tools, and features that enable scalable, low-latency data access and analysis to ground Coach responses in users’ longitudinal health, biometric, and fitness data.
  • Write production-grade code and evals to enable secure data retrieval layers and investigative tools.
  • Identify product gaps and suggest feature enhancements that drive user value, while proposing architectural code improvements for long-term scalability and maintainability.
  • Work with Product Managers, UX Designers, and frontend engineers to refine the user experience and resolve cross-functional technical issues.
  • Mentor junior engineers, and conduct design and code reviews to maintain engineering standards within the team.
