Job summary
Alpaca is seeking a senior software engineer to join its identity team, building scalable systems that onboard users, verify identity, assess risk, and manage trading accounts. You’ll design cloud-native microservices and contribute to a platform serving millions of end users, with high automation and global expansion in sight.
You will own architectural decisions, implement reliable backend services, and collaborate across teams to improve Alpaca’s systems.
Qualifications
- 3+ years building scalable backend systems.
- Experience designing and maintaining microservices.
- Proficient in Go and modern cloud-native architecture.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Experience with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to core systems used by millions of users.
- Build global identity verification and risk management services.
- Design backend services with reliability as a priority.
- Own tasks, address technical challenges, and propose solutions.
- Contribute to architectural decisions for scalable systems.
- Collaborate with teams to improve system interactions.
- Maintain code quality and test coverage.
- Participate in code reviews and incident response.
- Occasionally go on-call to support timely engineering projects.
