Job summary

The Trade Desk is seeking a talented engineer to own end-to-end product strategy, from design and building to delivery. You will work on large-scale distributed systems and must be comfortable in an agile, distributed team environment.

About the Role

• You are an end‑to‑end owner. You will participate actively in all aspects of product strategy – from designing, building, and delivering products for our clients.
• We have dozens of individual, mission‑focused teams working across a wide spectrum of technological challenges. Depending on your interests and aptitude, you may lead engineers who build large‑scale distributed systems coordinating thousands of servers in cloud and data centers, petabyte‑scale data challenges, machine learning, advanced visualizations, and interactive user interfaces – to name a few.

Who We Are Looking For

• You are comfortable working on an agile, distributed team spanning multiple time zones and continents.
• You are able to communicate effectively across both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• You have a solid understanding of computer science and engineering fundamentals.
• You have experience working with distributed systems.
• You are proficient in C#, .Net, Java, and other languages for web and API development.
• You are proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript.
• You have experience with Spark and Scala; additional experience in Python is a plus.
• You have knowledge of software development editors such as Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, and Rider, and version control systems like Git.

Compensation & Benefits

In accordance with various US state laws, the range provided is the Trade Desk’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non‑discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock‑based compensation grants, which are awarded based on company and individual performance. The company also offers variable compensation‑based incentives and commissions.

Expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401(k) plan with company match, short and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well‑being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full‑time employees up to 120 hours through the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year. Base salary range for this role is $137,300 – $251,800 USD.
