General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Software Engineer Sr Advisor to design, implement, test, and document advanced software solutions. You will act as a technical lead across large projects and guide teams through the full SDLC with emphasis on quality and user experience.

The role requires expertise in web development, C# ASP.NET, Java, and databases, with MongoDB preferred. Location is onsite in the USA and telecommuting is not the norm.

Software Engineer Sr Advisor

Deliver simple solutions to complex problems as a Software Engineer Sr Advisor at GDIT. You’ll tailor cutting‑edge solutions to the unique requirements of our clients and prioritize the end user’s experience while pursuing your own career growth.

Responsibilities

• Code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
• Apply principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to develop complex solutions.
• Act as a subject‑matter expert in internal reviews of software components and systems.
• Tackle the hardest technical problems, often unusually complex, requiring creativity and innovation.
• Champion appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to produce technical engineering products.
• Define scope, schedule, and expectations for work, with assignments often self‑initiated.
• Provide leadership and/or direction and/or supervision to lower‑level employees and teams.
• Lead large technical tasks, teams, and projects.
• Keep abreast of technology trends and champion new ideas and process improvements.

Basic Qualifications

• Web Development experience.
• Preferred libraries: jQuery, Bootstrap.JS, Knockout.js.
• Proficiency in C# with ASP.NET Web Forms or ASP.NET MVC.
• Strong development skills in Java with a willingness to learn C#.
• Database experience.
• Preferred: MongoDB.
• HTML, CSS.
• Deployment with a web server.
• Preferred: IIS.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or a related technical field with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (Agile experience preferred).
• Proficient understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
• Proficient at applying technical standards and methodologies to resolve issues creatively and help the company meet financial and business objectives.

Salary range: $111,155 – $150,385 (actual compensation may vary based on experience, location, and contractual requirements).

Location: USA (MD Hanover).

Schedule: 40 hours per week. Travel required: None. Telecommuting options: Onsite.
