Build the Frontend Platform at Tabs in New York, NY

Tabs, the AI Operating System for Revenue, is helping modern finance and accounting teams move from manually managing revenue workflows to directing outcomes while the system executes the work. As a Senior Software Engineer, Frontend at Tabs in New York, NY, you will shape the design system and component library that powers how both internal teams and AI agents build and ship features — making it a rare opportunity to define the frontend architecture of an early-stage fintech startup.

Why This Role Matters

You will be instrumental in creating the design system and component library that defines how internal teams and external agents build and ship features. This is not a role where you simply implement pre-designed specs — you will actively drive the user experience and developer experience for Tabs' frontend platforms. You are helping establish patterns, standards, and tools that every other frontend initiative will depend on as the company scales.

What You Will Do

• Participate in full-lifecycle software development, from inception through production maintenance
• Collaborate with engineering teams and internal stakeholders to identify and champion improvements across internal and external interfaces
• Design and implement highly scalable and reliable systems
• Proactively contribute ideas for new features and continuously seek opportunities for improvement
• Help build out the engineering organization and shape the technical culture of an early-stage startup

Qualifications

Candidates should bring 5 to 8 years of professional engineering experience, with a proven track record of building platform services from the ground up — particularly in constrained-resource environments where resourcefulness is essential. Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, or a comparable web development language is required. A strong foundation in computer science principles and coding practices is expected, along with a genuine desire to stay current with the latest advancements in software engineering. Experience contributing to design systems, component libraries, or internal developer platforms would be a significant asset.

The compensation range for this role is $175,000 – $240,000.
