Job summary

Fastly is seeking a staff-level backend engineer to join our Security Products group, building and maintaining security-focused edge cloud platform tooling. The role centers on large-scale Go-based web backends, delivering secure, scalable network security features customers rely on.

You'll collaborate across distributed teams, review code, optimize performance, and help shape product delivery for a global customer base. Remote across North America with on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of enterprise software development experience.
• Deep knowledge of HTTP and related networking protocols (Varnish or H2O).
• Strong interest in network security and secure software design.
• Hands-on experience developing and operating backend systems for web applications.
• Track record of working in collaborative, distributed team environments.
• Strong Linux, automation, and shell scripting skills.
