Job summary

The core systems team is hiring a senior backend engineer to help build and optimize the distributed infrastructure behind a data activation platform. You will move large volumes of customer data reliably and quickly, enabling global deployments and real-time use cases.

Responsibilities include designing streaming systems, reducing sync times, identifying bottlenecks, and owning end-to-end delivery—from design to customer-facing scaling challenges—with equity included and visa sponsorship

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience focused on backend/distributed systems.
• Experience scaling complex, business-critical backend systems.
• Strong systems design fundamentals for large-scale distributed environments.
• Experience with event streaming or data pipelines (Kafka) and relational databases.
• Familiarity with Spark, Flink, Kubernetes, and Docker.

ABOUT THE ROLE

WHAT YOU'LL DO

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• At least 7 years of software engineering experience, focused on backend systems and distributed systems.
• Experience building and scaling complex, business-critical backend systems through significant growth.
• Strong systems design fundamentals and understanding of large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with event collection or data streaming services, message queues, Kafka, SQL databases, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Ability to work close to the infrastructure layer, with familiarity with technologies such as Spark, Flink, and Kafka.
• Strong communication skills, sound technical judgment, and a willingness to take ownership in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong computer science fundamentals and a background primarily in backend engineering rather than data engineering or DevOps.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary: $180,000 to $320,000 USD annually. Equity is included. Visa sponsorship is available. LOCATION Remote, United States.
