Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced software leader to guide a team of developers in building scalable, data-driven applications using Python, SQL, and Azure.

You will design APIs, dashboards in Power BI, and orchestrate data workflows while collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment. This role requires on-site presence at a U.S. Bank location three or more days per week.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Five to six years of relevant experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Experience with REST APIs, JSON services, and data integration.
  • Experience with Power BI for analytics.
  • Knowledge of Azure Cloud Services and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery and production support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of junior developers, fostering technical growth and best practices.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and data solutions using Python, SQL, and modern frameworks.
  • Build and integrate REST APIs, JSON services, and enterprise data workflows.
  • Develop Power BI dashboards for BI reporting.
  • Architect data integration and orchestration for data warehouses.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable Azure-based solutions.
  • Drive DevOps practices including CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Ensure reliability and performance in production environments.

Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of junior developers, fostering technical growth, code quality, and engineering best practices.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and data solutions using Python, SQL, and modern development frameworks.
  • Build and integrate REST APIs, JSON services, and enterprise data workflows across multiple platforms.
  • Develop Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions to support business intelligence and data-driven decision making.
  • Architect and implement data integration and data orchestration solutions for enterprise systems and data warehouses.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions using Azure cloud technologies and Agile methodologies.
  • Drive DevOps practices, including CI/CD automation, source control management, and automated testing strategies.
  • Support and optimize large-scale production environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, performance, and operational excellence.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Five to six years of relevant experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Strong proficiency in Python development, object-oriented programming, and software engineering best practices.
  • Advanced experience with SQL, database design, performance tuning, and enterprise data platforms.
  • Hands-on expertise developing and consuming REST APIs, JSON services, and data integration solutions.
  • Experience building analytics and reporting solutions using Power BI.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure Cloud Services, cloud-native architectures, and enterprise-scale deployments.
  • Experience with data orchestration tools, ETL/ELT processes, and enterprise data warehouse environments.
  • Proficiency with Git, version control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of Agile delivery, production support, system monitoring, incident management, and operational reliability.

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

Pay Range: $119,765.00 - $140,900.00
