Job summary

Ampcus Inc. is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer in Reston, VA to drive complex software analysis, design, development, testing, and debugging across enterprise systems.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to architecture decisions while delivering scalable solutions with COBOL, Java, Spring, AWS, RESTful services, and DevOps practices. Experience with CI/CD and agile methodologies is required.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of software development experience including design, coding, and testing.
• Experience with COBOL and mainframe environments (CICS, JCL, TSO/ISPF).
• Proficient in Java, Spring, AWS, RESTful services, and CI/CD in a DevOps setup.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical detail design, coding, testing of applications; SME for discussions.
• Analyze interface design documentation; ensure code quality and standards.
• Develop software solutions for enterprise environments; maintain existing systems.
• Provide technical support for high visibility issues; mentor junior engineers.
