About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer with a specialization in Infrastructure you will:

  • Create and maintain scalable, service‑oriented solutions that support a globally distributed system handling over 15 million requests per second.
  • Help product teams ship more efficiently and safely through automation, tools, and processes used by all teams at The Trade Desk.
  • Ensure supportability by innovating solutions for our infrastructure through building, implementing, operating, and adding features to self‑service tooling and automation.
  • Participate in root‑cause analysis and post‑mortem discussions to drive long‑term operational health improvements.
  • Analyze process gaps and implement solutions to speed up execution and reduce manual toil.
  • Apply SRE mindset elements such as configuration management, capacity modeling, monitoring, data collection and analysis, KPI definition, and tracking.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on‑call rotation.
Who We Are Looking For
Skills and Experience
  • Experience writing clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code in TypeScript, Go/Golang, or C#.
  • Designing, developing, deploying, and supporting service‑oriented applications.
  • Domain knowledge in one or more of the following:
    • Kubernetes, Docker, ArgoCD, Backstage
    • Kafka, Service Discovery (e.g., Consul)
    • AWS, Azure, Alibaba Cloud (Aliyun)
    • Linux operating system internals, filesystems, storage technologies, protocols, and networking stack
    • GitOps tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation

In accordance with various U.S. state laws, the range provided is the Trade Desk’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. All employees may be eligible to become Trade Desk shareholders through stock‑based compensation grants, which are awarded based on company and individual performance. Other compensation includes variable incentives and commissions. Expected benefits include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401(k) plan with company match, short and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well‑being benefits, tuition reimbursement, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full‑time employees up to 120 hours in the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and about 13 paid holidays per year. Employees can purchase Trade Desk stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

Base salary range for this role: $124,900–$228,900 USD.
