Job summary

Snowflake is seeking a security-focused software engineer to build and operate scalable security controls across multi-cloud environments. You will design secure architectures, implement AI-augmented pipelines, and own end-to-end security workstreams.

You will collaborate with teams, mentor others, and apply best practices in CI, testing, and observability. Proficiency in Java/C++/Go/Python and SQL is valued, along with Kubernetes and IaC tools like Terraform or Pulumi.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience preferred, or equivalent experience.

• Build solutions and services that operate, protect, and govern Snowflake’s security posture across 600+ million assets and AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Automate security controls across cloud environments, including IAM, detection and monitoring, configuration management, and data protection
• Build real-time security monitoring, logging, and alerting using Snowflake technologies
• Define and maintain security baselines, policies, and standards for public cloud platforms
• Design and operate continuous, AI-augmented pipelines that ingest posture and telemetry, score risk, and surface high-impact issues
• Own security workstreams end to end
• Conduct design reviews, mentor team members, and provide technical guidance
• Apply software engineering best practices including documentation, testing, and observability

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience preferred, or equivalent experience
• Experience designing and owning secure, large-scale systems
• Working knowledge of secure architecture principles and threat modeling
• Experience building software in one or more languages such as Java, C++, Go, or Python
• Familiarity with distributed architectures and scalable APIs such as gRPC and REST
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering and cross-functional stakeholders
• Commitment to data-driven, scalable decision-making
• Experience applying AI/ML to security problems and building supporting data pipelines
• Proficiency writing, debugging, and optimizing SQL for data-driven security operations
• Strong grasp of algorithms and data structures
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and IaC tools such as Terraform or Pulumi
• Experience designing scalable, concurrent, resilient services for high-demand, multi-cloud environments
