Job summary

Mozilla is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to mature and build features for our Internal Developer Infrastructure Platform. You will help create scalable CI/CD, observability, and environment bootstrapping solutions to support Mozilla’s engineering teams.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, cross‑functional collaboration, and delivering measurable improvements in developer productivity and platform usability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in software engineering with expertise in at least one of (Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, SRE, DevOps).
• Proven technical leadership experience.
• Expertise in ArgoCD, Grafana, Kubernetes, GitHub, Terraform, Helm, Backstage, Cloud Cost Optimization.
• Proficient in Python, JavaScript, or Go.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native technologies (GCP preferred; AWS also acceptable).
• Excellent communication skills aligning technology with user needs and organizational goals.
• Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity.
• Curiosity and interest in learning new things.
• Experience with distributed systems architecture and design.
• Knowledge of cloud security and governance principles.
• Experience designing agentic workflows.
• Database expertise.
• Experience building Internal Developer Platforms.

About this role:

Mozilla’s Cloud Engineering team seeks a Senior Software Engineer to mature, maintain, and build features for our Internal Developer Infrastructure Platform. You will work on creating standardized, scalable systems for CI/CD, Observability, Kubernetes optimization, environment bootstrapping, cost optimization, and more. Supporting the Infrastructure needs of the organization and identifying new opportunities to mature the path to production in a safe, cost effective way will also be an integral part of this role.

What you’ll do:
