NVIDIA is seeking a Software/CAD Tool Engineer in Santa Clara, CA to join the Circuits Solutions Group. You will build tools to boost productivity for our custom circuit designs and work with multi-functional teams to ensure robust designs affecting multiple product lines.

You’ll engineer full tool lifecycles—from data storage and UI to testing, deployment, and maintenance—while collaborating across DA teams to push state-of-the-art software solutions.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. in CS/Engineering preferred; 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in C++, Tcl, Python; GUI, database, testing, deployment.
  • Experience with AI models for code development and code reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Develop EDA/CAD tools for chip development within a multi-functional team.
  • Support pre- and post-silicon hardware design projects and data analysis.
  • Own full lifecycle of tool development: storage, UI, testing, deployment, maintenance.
  • Collaborate with DA teams to bring state-of-the-art software solutions.

We are currently looking for a Software/CAD Tool Engineer to join our dynamic team in our Circuits Solutions Group! In this role you'll be building solutions to boost productivity and efficiency of our custom circuit designs. You will be engaging with multi-functional teams to ensure the robustness of the designs that will have direct impact across all product lines.

What you’ll be doing:

Work within a multi-functional team on various projects involving Pre-silicon and Post Silicon hardware design and related data Supporting projects with applications ranging from silicon data analysis, process variation analysis, VLSI design analysis, timing analysis etc. Employ good software engineering practices to develop leading-edge EDA/CAD tools for chip development Work closely with Backend engineers to support the existing development infrastructure, identify possible improvements and solutions You will be directly responsible for the full life-cycle of tool development including data storage design, UI design, testing, development, deployment, and maintenance. Work with other team members and other DA teams to bring state of the art software solutions and practices to the team

What we need to see:

B.Sc./M.Sc. preferred in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience 3+ years of relevant experience Good programming skills in multiple languages ( C++, Tcl, Python, or other scripting languages (such as Perl, Shell).) Prior experience with tool development including GUI, database management, testing and deployment is required Familiar with different AI models for code development and code reviews Familiar with using MCP, agent skills, agent orchestrations, spec-driven development Personal: excellent interpersonal skills, quick learner, proactive, innovative, highly motivated, and committed.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

Knowledge of EDA tools like ICC2, Design Compiler, PrimeTime, and Innovus is plus. Previous work with VLSI, ASIC. The base salary range is 136,000 USD - 218,500 USD for Level 3, and 168,000 USD - 264,500 USD for Level 4. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
