Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle is seeking a Senior Engineer for the Discounts Team to tackle complex billing and discounting challenges.

You will design and implement distributed systems that apply discount logic at AWS scale, enabling fast deployment of new discount constructs for strategic contracts and partnerships. You will mentor engineers, raise code quality, and drive architectural simplification while partnering with sales, finance, and service teams to translate

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design and build distributed systems that apply discount logic at AWS scale.
• Build configuration-driven discount systems for sales, service, and finance.
• Enforce accuracy: discounts must be correctly applied, auditable and traceable.
• Partner with AWS sales, finance, and service teams to translate complex enterprise deals into scalable billing constructs.
