Job summary

Affirm in Las Vegas seeks a seasoned backend engineer to build and scale data platforms for real-time loan origination and financial reporting. You will lead engineers through ambiguity, guiding architectural decisions and delivering quarterly goals in collaboration with product and design teams.

You will own the stack from API design to data pipelines, using Python or Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes, Spark or Airflow, ensuring scalable, reliable systems.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in backend systems using Python or Kotlin.
• Expertise in distributed systems with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Deep experience with scalable data pipelines using Spark or Airflow.
