Job summary

Didi Labs in San Jose, CA is seeking a Software Engineer / Senior Software Engineer to advance map fusion and motion planning for our autonomous vehicles. You will bridge semantic HD maps with real-time perception and vehicle trajectory generation.

You will design scalable software, implement geometric and deep learning frameworks, and optimize C++ modules for low latency, safety, and reliability in a multi-threaded production environment.

Qualifications

• Education: B.S./M.S. or Ph.D. in CS, robotics, EE, or related field.
• 3+ years (Software Engineer) / 5+ years (Senior) in autonomous driving or robotics.
• Expert in production-grade C++ and Python prototyping.
• Strong knowledge of path planning and robotics fundamentals.
• Experience with ROS2 or DDS and distributed software architectures.

Responsibilities

• Architect data pipelines and APIs for map fusion, perception, and planning.
• Deploy frameworks integrating HD maps with online perception.
• Implement BEV map element generation using DETR-style networks.
• Design motion planning algorithms and trajectory optimization.
• Own end-to-end training to runtime deployment using ONNX and C++.
• Develop real-time map anomaly and scene-change detection.
• Optimize latency and multi-threaded safety-critical code.
