Job summary

VTekis Consulting LLP is seeking a Senior/Staff Software Engineer with an automotive background to join a contract staffing engagement in California. The role requires hands-on development in Java and Kotlin and building payment systems and digital commerce platforms.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of software engineering experience, deep expertise with Apache Kafka, REST APIs, microservices, Spring Boot, and databases such as PostgreSQL/MySQL or NoSQL options, and strong understanding of

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
8+ years of software engineering experience, senior/staff level.
Strong hands-on experience with Java and/or Kotlin.
Extensive experience developing payment systems, financial transaction platforms, or digital commerce systems.
Strong experience with Apache Kafka, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems.
Experience building REST APIs and microservices.
Strong knowledge of Spring Boot/Spring Framework.
Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, scalability, and system reliability.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Git, and cloud environments.
