Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for ExamDeveloper to lead design, implementation, and optimization of distributed systems. You will work with product, QA, DevOps, and security to deliver scalable, secure software.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and champion best practices across testing, CI/CD, observability, and security, with emphasis on cloud-native environments and AI-assisted development tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading the design and delivery of complex, distributed systems.
• Experience designing and operating within cloud-native environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation for complex software components, services, and platforms.
• Mentor engineers and coach through design reviews, code reviews, pairing, and guidance.
• Drive architectural decisions and balance value, risk, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, QA, DevOps to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable solutions.
