Blue Origin in Seattle, WA seeks a Sr. Software Engineer–AI services to join the Enterprise Technology group. You will design scalable AI services powering metadata generation and orchestration across enterprise domains, with a focus on security, reliability, and performance.

You will own features end-to-end, collaborate with stakeholders, and help deploy AI workflows using Terraform, AWS, and modern ML tooling. Passion for spaceflight and quality is required.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience with RESTful APIs and AI/ML in cloud environments.
• Proficiency in Python or Java.
• Knowledge of CS fundamentals and software engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

This role is part of Enterprise Technology (ET), where we’re developing the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space, with an emphasis on digital capabilities required to advance Blue Origin’s mission. Enterprise Technology is the center of excellence for digital technology at Blue Origin, providing oversight and governance to align technology and business strategies.

The Enterprise Data Management & Analytics team supervises the platform and data management capabilities that enable analytics, dataengineeringand data science across the company. We are constantly innovating in the ways we are automating and accelerating the creation of products using innovativesoftwareand hardware technologies. We use the latest AWS technologies, big data approaches, and LLM to build distributed,highly availablesystems to achieve our goals.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Design and implement scalable, low-latency AI services powering metadata generation and feature extraction
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and engineering peers to understand and translate business requirements into flexible design solutions
• Ensure that AI/ML systemscomply withsecurity standards and best practices, addressing data privacy and protection concerns
• Develop and deploy Agentic AI solutions, including autonomous agents, multi-agent orchestration frameworks, and LLM-powered workflows, that transform business processes across Finance, Supply Chain, and other enterprise domains
• Own features end‑to‑end: from project estimation and architecture review through coding, deployment, and post‑launch measurement
• Build resilient systems with strong observability, bringing to bear automated testing, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines using infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
• Leadandparticipateinon‑call rotations; drive root‑cause analysis, observability improvements, and operational excellence

Required Qualifications:

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 8+ years of professionalsoftwaredevelopment experience with focus on building RESTful APIs and AI/ML applications, in cloud environments, and containerized workloads (we use AWS)
• Proficiencyin one or more programming languages such as Python (Preferred) or Java
• Knowledge of professionalsoftwareengineering practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations
• Solid understanding of CS fundamentals: object-oriented design, algorithms, and problem-solving

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases, fine-tuning, and/or AI agent orchestration frameworks
• Experience developing front-end applications using modern JavaScript frameworks

Base Pay Range for:

WA applicants is $197,529.00 - $276,539.55
