Job summary

Google is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Recommendations, Rankings, Predictions and Search Discover to help build the world’s most intelligent content recommendation engine. You will design and deploy ranking models, collaborate with researchers, and drive improvements across the system that affects billions of users.

You will work on deep learning models, LLM exploration, and novel ranking paradigms, focusing on engagement and satisfaction at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products; 1 year in design/architecture.
• 3 years building and deploying recommendation systems models in production; experience with architecture.
• 3 years of ML infrastructure experience (deployment, evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging).
• 3 years of data analysis, data manipulation, and statistical methods.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test new ranking algorithms and model features.
• Analyze experiment results to measure impact and guide improvements.
• Collaborate with engineers and researchers to implement new ideas.
• Contribute to quality and reliability of ranking systems.
• Explore techniques to advance content understanding and personalization.
• Design and implement recommendation systems models across domains and contribute to architecture.
