Job summary

BuildOps is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and scale product experiences across frontend and backend systems. You’ll own projects end-to-end, collaborate with product, design, and engineering, and deliver reliable software while mentoring teammates in a fast-paced startup environment.

Ideal candidates bring strong API design skills, frontend-backend fluency, and experience with observability and AI-assisted development tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems at scale.
• Experience building reliable APIs, services, and user-facing applications in a modern production environment.
• Strong fundamentals with ability to decompose complex problems into maintainable solutions.
• Experience mentoring teammates and improving engineering quality.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-quality product features across frontend and backend applications.
• Own projects through full lifecycle from design to rollout and maintenance.
• Partner with product, design, and engineering to translate ambiguity into clear technical plans.
• Write clean, well-tested code with focus on simplicity and long-term extensibility.
• Build user-facing experiences and supporting APIs across client, service, and data boundaries.
• Design systems with observability, including metrics, dashboards, and health checks.
