Job summary

Samsara is hiring software engineers who will define what ships next, across platform and product roles. You will build full-stack AI-powered features, own end-to-end delivery, and collaborate with product, design, and customer-facing teams to translate real-world problems into scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in software design and development, including building and operating production systems at scale.
• Strong full-stack fundamentals across backend services, APIs, and frontend (web or mobile).
• Experience leading cross-team or cross-org projects from inception through rollout, including ambiguity management and delivering impact.
• Experience building AI-powered or data-driven products; ability to turn AI capabilities into customer-facing products.
• Strong communication skills to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Track record of building zero-to-one products or substantially improved systems.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of technically complex, mission-critical areas and drive them to completion.
• Define and drive technical strategy for new products and platform capabilities, from backend services to UI.
• Design and ship full-stack features end to end across backend, frontend, and mobile as needed.
• Partner with product, design, and customer-facing teams to translate real-world problems into technical plans with measurable outcomes.
• Build and scale systems behind AI-driven products, including data ingestion, APIs, and workflows for operators.
• Raise the bar through code/design reviews, mentorship, and setting quality standards.
• Champion Samsara’s cultural principles as we scale globally and across new offices.
