Job summary

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the Navisphere Orders capability, delivering complex software for global customers. You will evaluate requirements, estimate tasks, and write production-grade code while collaborating with product managers, QAs, and other engineers.

The role emphasizes secure coding, performance, and maintaining modern development standards in an enterprise environment, with locations in Minnesota, Chicago, or Kansas City.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in a software development team environment
• 6+ years building applications in an object-oriented environment (C#, .NET)
• Experience with relational (MS SQL, Oracle) or non-relational (MongoDB) databases
• Experience with microservices (WebAPI, Service Stack, REST API)
• Familiarity with AI/ML-driven engineering practices and AI-assisted development tools
• Experience with code reviews, optimization, and unit/acceptance tests
• Proficient with version control systems (Git, GitHub, TFS)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or MIS; or 4 years of equivalent work experience and HS diploma

Responsibilities

• Develop software and design solutions to satisfy customer requirements
• Collaborate with product managers and senior engineers to translate requirements into designs
• Estimate software development effort and plan tasks
• Optimize and refactor code for performance and maintainability
• Write secure code and enhance security of existing apps
• Increase code quality with unit/integration/acceptance tests
• Tune performance and fix availability issues
• Mentor other engineers and participate in code reviews
• Stay updated with emerging technologies
