Job summary

KBX is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver scalable software for transportation and logistics platforms. You will work on AI-powered product engineering with ownership and strong engineering practices, impacting production solutions with fewer handoffs.

You will collaborate with product and business partners, mentor engineers, and improve performance, observability, and reliability across systems.

Qualifications

• Experience leveraging AI-powered development tools and solutions, including LLMs and agentic systems, while ensuring outputs meet standards.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining software using .NET and related frameworks.
• Strong full-stack development with emphasis on backend services, APIs, integrations, data access patterns, and UI features.
• Experience developing user-facing features with modern front-end frameworks.
• Experience designing APIs, integrations, service-oriented solutions, and translating requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience supporting applications through the full SDLC.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders to deliver software from discovery to production.
• Experience delivering software through small, cross-functional teams with ownership for outcomes.
• Experience leading code reviews, complex designs, architecture discussions, and troubleshooting.
• Experience mentoring other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Use AI-assisted engineering practices across discovery, design, coding, testing, documentation, and support with accountability for quality and security.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, CTOs, and stakeholders to clarify problems and deliver valuable outcomes.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack software across backend and UI components.

• Provide mentorship to engineers and guide technical challenges to resolution.

Our Team

We are the KBX Managed Freight Engineering team, focused on transforming freight management with innovative, AI-powered software solutions. Working closely with product, engineering, and business partners, we build and support scalable applications for shipment tracking, exception management, and carrier connectivity. Our collaborative, cross-functional team embraces modern engineering practices and empowers each member to take ownership and deliver meaningful business results.

What You Will Do

• Use AI-assisted and agentic engineering practices across discovery, design, coding, testing, documentation, and support while maintaining accountability for solution quality, security, and supportability


• Collaborate directly with Product Managers, Product Owners, Technical Leads, and business stakeholders to clarify problems and requests, challenge assumptions, evaluate tradeoffs, and deliver valuable business outcomes


• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack software applications and services, writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code across backend and user-facing components


• Design and implement complex backend services, APIs, integrations, core system components, and user-facing application features


• Participate in architecture discussions, technology strategy, technical decision-making, code reviews, and technical design discussions to ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices


• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to software engineers while helping resolve complex technical challenges


• Improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and observability


• Support and maintain existing applications by troubleshooting and resolving production issues


• Document code, technical designs, architectural decisions, and engineering processes


• Share reusable patterns, lessons, and practices that improve engineering speed and quality across teams

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Experience leveraging AI-powered development tools and solutions, including LLMs and agentic systems, while ensuring generated outputs meet standards for quality, security, maintainability, and business value.


• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining software applications using .NET and related application frameworks.


• Strong full-stack application development experience, with emphasis on backend services, APIs, integrations, data access patterns, and user-facing application features.


• Experience developing user-facing application features using modern front-end frameworks or technologies.


• Experience designing and developing APIs, integrations, service-oriented solutions, and translating business requirements into technical solutions.


• Experience supporting applications through the full software development lifecycle.


• Experience collaborating with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver software solutions from discovery to production


• Experience delivering software through small, cross-functional teams with broad individual ownership and accountability for outcomes.


• Experience leading technical activities including code reviews, complex designs, architecture discussions, and troubleshooting.


• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other engineers.
