Application Platform Engineering owns what every product team at impact.com builds on: shared libraries, service templates and engineering standards. Our goal is to build the paved road, where the right way to build a service is also the easiest, and compliant by default.
You’ll join a small but growing team, reporting directly to our Senior Director of Engineering and working with a dedicated product manager, early enough to shape what we build and how we work.
Your customers are other engineers, and your reach is all of engineering. What you build runs inside every new service, so a good decision pays off many times over, and a security patch lands once and reaches everyone. Where five teams would each solve the same problem differently, you give it one owner and one good implementation.
This is a hands‑on role: most of your time goes into writing and shipping code, with the rest spent working with teams on discovery and adoption. You’ll talk to teams to find out where they’re losing days, decide which problems are worth solving once for everyone, build the solution, and see it through to adoption. Teams adopt our solutions because they’re the best option and we treat them like internal products with a roadmap, versioned releases, and good documentation.
