$165,000.00/yr - $175,000.00/yr
We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to play a central role in building and scaling the technology that powers our fast growing platform. You'll design and deliver high-performance backend systems that manage everything from payments and subscriptions to fulfillment and order tracking — ensuring our customers enjoy a seamless, reliable shopping experience every time. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in collaborative environments, care deeply about code quality and system design, and enjoy solving complex problems at scale. You'll have the autonomy to influence architecture decisions, mentor other developers, and help shape the future of Jiffy.
- Contribute to the architecture and scalability of Jiffy's platform, ensuring low latency, high availability, and secure operations.
- Build and enhance APIs and data pipelines connecting product, billing, and fulfillment systems for consistent cross-service communication.
- Collaborate with Product and Design to deliver customer-facing features that improve conversion rates, retention, and checkout experience.
- Ensure data integrity and reliability across distributed systems through resilient workflows and monitoring.
- Partner with DevOps to automate deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure using modern DevOps tooling.
- Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and technical documentation to uphold engineering quality standards.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize backend services to handle increasing traffic and scale efficiently.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices and internal frameworks.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in backend or full-stack software development
- Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages (e.g., Go, Java, Python, or Node.js)
- Experience building RESTful and event-driven microservices at scale
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases, message queues, and caching systems
- Commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills in distributed systems
- Experience in e-commerce
- Familiarity with subscription management, billing orchestration, or checkout optimization
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance (e.g., PCI, SOC 2)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling (Datadog, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry), and infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Strong understanding of data modeling, API design, and asynchronous processing patterns
