Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Python, requirement analysis, traceability matrix development, and end-to-end quality assurance.
  • 3+ years of automation experience in GitHub/GitLab.
  • 2+ years of experience with container technologies and DevOps methodologies (Scrum and tools).
  • 1 year of open-source collaboration and code contributions.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate complex issues referred by support teams and collaborate with customers.
  • Develop and maintain testing programs for upstream packages and hardware accelerators.

  • Work with developers to implement bug fixes and coordinate releases.
  • Create comprehensive test plans, scripts, and procedures for replicability and standards compliance.
  • Plan test schedules aligned with project scopes and delivery dates.

Job description

*Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from the Red Hat, LLC office in Boston, MA.


Modify existing software to correct errors or to adapt the software to new accelerator toolkit or version requirements. Identify and document software defects through rigorous program analysis and historical result tracking and ensure all issues are logged in a bug tracking system and reported to developers to maintain clear visibility on product health.


What You Will Do:


  • Ensure all issues are logged in Jira and reported to developers to maintain clear visibility on product health.

  • Conduct probe testing across various hardware accelerators to ensure the packages can build and inference as expected.

  • Investigate complex technical issues referred by support teams and collaborate directly with field staff or customers to diagnose problems.

  • Develop and maintain specialized testing programs that address complex scenarios for upstream packages and their functionality on accelerated hardware.

  • Design automated scripts and tools that ensure the software remains stable across various hardware environments.

  • Document the automation and process in Jira and Gitlab.

  • Work with software developers to build and implement bug fixes or coordinate fix with developers.

  • Design comprehensive test plans, scripts, and procedures to ensure replicability and compliance with industry standards.

  • Strategically plan test schedules in accordance with project scopes and delivery dates to guarantee release readiness.

  • Maintain currency with test scripts in regards to CVEs, bugs, and other required updates/features.

  • Design automated testing tools to test software performance.


What You Will Bring:


  • Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related role.

  • Must have five (5) years of experience with: Python, requirement analysis, traceability matrix development, and end-to-end quality assurance; and scripting and creating automation using Python and Bash.

  • Must have three (3) years of experience with automation in GitHub/GitLab.

  • Must have two (2) years of experience with: container technologies; and DevOps methodologies, scrum and tools.

  • Must have one (1) year of experience contributing and collaborating with upstream open-source communities, focusing on code contributions, reviews, and alignment with community standards.

The salary range for this position is $139,797 - $225,090 /year. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.


Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat's compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
