Job summary

Walmart Labs in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to build high-quality, scalable applications. You will help set up the Targeting platform for a new market and lead globalization efforts with ownership and a strong sense of responsibility.

Ideal candidates have experience with production systems operations, strong CS fundamentals, and hands-on work with Java, RESTful services, and SQL in a large ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience or Master's with 3 years in CS or related field.
• 4 years building scalable eCommerce or mobile applications.
• Proficient in Java to design robust, high-performance applications for large ecosystems.
• Experience with RESTful web services and SOA.
• Strong SQL and DB skills; Linux systems programming.
• Fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, databases, and OS.
• Ability to lead and own features with quality focus.

Job description

We have following urgent role with our DIRECT client
Title: Sr. Software Engineer
Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Duration: 6+ Months

We are seeking a talented Senior Engineer with a proven track record of building high quality scalable applications, with a strong sense of ownership and solid leadership abilities. You will be responsible for setting up the Targeting platform in a new market and help the team take a giant step towards it’s globalization efforts.

Note:Experience in production system operations (logging, telemetry, alerting etc.)

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree and 5 yrs. of experience; OR Master’s Degree with 3 yrs. of experience in Computer Science or related field
• 4 years of experience building scalable eCommerce applications or mobile software
• Work with Java and other related technologies to design and develop robust high-performance and scalable applications for use within the @WalmartLabs product ecosystem
• Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions across all environments
• Utilize industry research to improve Wal-Mart’s technology environment.
• Strong computer science fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, databases, operating systems, etc.
• Strong DB skills are a must, should be very strong with SQL queries
• Experience with Linux systems programming
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related fields and 3-5 years of experience in system design and developing distributed applications.
• 1 or more year(s) experience with SOA (Service Oriented Architecture), RESTful web services
• A self-motivated learner and builder with strong customer focus and obsession with quality
• Knowledge of standard tools for optimizing and testing code is a plus
