Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and scale full-stack SaaS features using Ruby on Rails, React/TypeScript, and PostgreSQL. You’ll collaborate on architecture, APIs, and data models while applying AI-assisted tooling to accelerate development.

You will mentor peers, own production performance, and drive modern engineering practices in a fast-paced, mission-driven team in the United States. Strong cloud experience with AWS is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably SaaS or web-based products.
• Strong hands-on Rails, React/TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
• Working knowledge of AWS and cloud-based app development.
• Experience owning features from design to production.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices.
• Experience mentoring other engineers and driving code quality.

What You'll Be Doing

• Build and own new product features from initial design and development through testing, deployment, and ongoing enhancements.
• Develop full-stack SaaS applications using Ruby on Rails, React/TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
• Help shape technical design decisions, application architecture, APIs, and database structures.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, debugging, and overall engineering productivity.
• Collaborate with a Principal Engineer to help establish and evolve modern, AI-driven engineering practices.
• Mentor other engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
• Take ownership of production performance, quality, scalability, and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally developing SaaS or web-based products.
• Strong hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails, React/TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
• Working knowledge of AWS and cloud-based application development.
• Experience owning software features from design through production.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and modern software engineering practices.
• Practical experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or similar technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills, sound technical judgment, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other engineers.

Nice to Have: Experience with multi-tenant SaaS platforms, serverless architectures, or regulated environments.
